Day Two: Global Policing Perspectives and Wellbeing

Today at the Global Executive Leadership Summit (GELS), participants contributed to a discussion on the interconnectedness of policing across the globe and suggested a number of high level strategic challenges that will be impacting on policing everywhere.

This led to discussions on the unenviable role of policing in trying to balance and protect the rights of everyone, showing no fear nor favour, and upholding the law in the face of intensive and constant scrutiny and criticism. From this discussion, the potential for police led diplomacy in the most trying of circumstances was suggested as an area for development and discussion.

Later, the group considered the highly emotive and impactful issue of wellbeing and the, sometimes competing priorities of self-care and organisational care. Prior to the programme all participants undertook the Global Leadership Wellness Survey (GLWS) and the results were broken down and discussed.
A fascinating day of discussion and exploration.
