With over 30 years in policing, Michael Newman CF GAICD is a leading advocate for evidence-based Practice and data-driven strategies to enhance community safety. He has held key leadership roles in investigations, cybercrime, and intelligence operations.

As a Churchill Fellow, Mike has conducted groundbreaking research on cybercrime and intelligence gathering, engaging with top law enforcement agencies worldwide. His expertise has earned him global recognition, including induction into George Mason University’s EBP Hall of Fame.

Currently a Doctoral Candidate at the University of Queensland, Mike researches gendered advancement in policing and serves as Secretary of the Australia and New Zealand Society for Evidence-Based Policing, reflecting his dedication to evidence-based practice.
